Currently freelancing as a teacher, choreographer, performer and arts administrator, Emily’s interest in dance was sparked and nurtured by County Youth Dance Company in South Wales under the leadership of Julie Hobday.
Emily received a First-class honours degree from the University of Roehampton. Whilst training Emily was a member of National Youth Dance Wales (2014-2015), Rambert Youth Dance Company – Quicksilver, CoDa Youth Dance Company, Siobhan Davies – Next Choreography course and was rehearsal director of Third Row Dance Company.
Emily performed choreography by Kerry Nicholls as part of Apex Rising at Sadler’s Wells, her own choreography at Garden Museum as part of Siobhan Davies’ Connect and Grow and was involved in Akram Khan’s Big Dance2016creation process. Emily has had the privilege of working with Kerry Nicholls, Theo Clinkard, Odette Hughes, Neil Fleming Brown, 2Faced Dance Company, Mickael Marso Riviere, Jose Agudo, Jennifer Irons and Shaun Dillon.
Emily launched Emily Robinson Dance in 2018 and has recently created work for Resolution 2019 and continues her creative practice alongside her other work.
After graduating, Emily was the graduate intern for the Learning and Participation Department in Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance. Emily has also worked in other arts institutions including The Place as Youth and Outreach Coordinator and as Projects Manager in Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (maternity cover).
